Honeywell Analytics Gas Detection

The history of Honeywell’s gas and fire detection solutions goes back to the year 1959. In the United Kingdom, Joshua Sieger, with his company J&S Sieger Ltd. brought the first reliable catalytic gas detector on the market. In 1980, Sieger was acquired by Zellweger, a fast-growing competitor from Switzerland. They also incorporated the brand Zareba, just before Honeywell took over the Zellweger group in 2005. In 2012, Honeywell acquired Fire Sentry (fire detectors).

All of these acquisitions have resulted in an unprecedented range of fire detection and gas detection for flammable and toxic gases. The portfolio is in full development with the latest techniques, including in the field of wireless communication.
